The Credit Services Manager will be responsible for managing all aspects of USCA Architectural Coatings Stores Credit department providing credit support to over 900 retail stores in the United States and Canada. The Credit Services Manager will also lead and manage a robust staff of direct and indirect exempt reports.
Coaches the team to develop their knowledge and skills.
Interacts with a wide variety of internal and external individuals, including the business Vice President and senior sales management in order to: Contribute to the profitability of the business by approving optimum credit limits; develop effective customer relationships and effective high level collection and credit strategies.
Formulates and presents analysis of receivable performance information to the SBU channel in order to highlight the impact of receivable collections on working capital
Works closely with business management to develop and recommend appropriate strategies for managing high-risk and high exposure accounts.
Develops strategies for minimizing exposure for those customers determined to be bad debt risks. When necessary, determines the effect of such customers on the bad debt reserves. Also, recommends the write-off of those transactions deemed to be uncollectible on a monthly basis.
Translates high level vision and strategy into clear objectives and drive toward completion of those objectives
Drives the adoption of and encourages others to adopt new methods or technologies that add value or improve performance, related to Stores Credit.
Manages Stores budget and adhering to financial and SOX policies and procedures.
Manages credit and receivables for any store acquisitions, which may vary in size
Required Experience and Education:
Bachelor’s degree in finance/accounting or related field of study required
Minimum of 8+ years of financial and/or credit experience
Previous management experience required
Ability to travel 20% domestically and internationally
Functional and Technical Skills
Ability to coach others and develop their knowledge and skills
Ability to give clear feedback on performance and areas of developmental need
Ability to understand and apply accounting policies and procedures related to Credit/Accounts Receivable.
Ability to effectively analyze various types of financial information and reach sound conclusions
Ability to effectively communicate and interact with all levels of the business unit management to achieve the best possible results
An effective communicator, forceful when necessary yet tactfully persuasive
Ability to lead and conduct financial and credit related meetings with senior SBU management and external customers
Ability to effectively negotiate with customers in a high stress environment
Strong excel and data analysis skills
It is preferred that candidates possess:
Working knowledge of SAP Receivables
Experience working with commercial collection regulations and mechanics lien laws
